Robustness

MARECHAL® develops products that are reliable, robust and repairable.
Once installed, they perform their function for decades.

An unrivalled guarantee of reliability to meet the challenges of the most demanding industries
In demanding environments, electrical plug socket-outlets are subject to intensive use. Choosing a robust appliance will help reduce operating costs, ensure operator safety and maximise production time.

Unrivalled, time-tested, high-performance solutions
MARECHAL® equipment is designed to withstand shocks, drops, vibrations, wear and tear, extreme operating temperatures, corrosion, chemical agents,
and ultraviolet (UV) rays. The components of our products are readily available and their design is such that maintenance is easy and cost-effective.

Excellence is our standard Designed and manufactured from A to Z in our RD centres and production sites in France, our products are the best ambassadors for our brand, a guarantee of unique quality.
A constant striving for excellence, from design to execution, where each product offered meets extreme endurance criteria, even in the most difficult conditions.

EXTREME LONGEVITY CRITERIA

Resistance to mechanical impact (IK index)

The IK index is defined by the IEC/EN 62262 standard and is used to qualify the degree of protection of a device against external mechanical impacts. They are classified from OO (no resistance) to 10 (highest resistance).

The impact energy value is expressed in Joules. Impact” or ‘shock’ refers to the direct action of a solid body on the device. This action results in energy being transmitted to the device casing.

Relationship between IK index
and impact energy

We test the performance of our equipment to the highest standards

Several conditions are definished in IEC 60309-1 (plug socket-outlets for industrial use) to check the IK index of our equipment:

  • Pre-conditioning (16 hours at -25°C for samples in thermoplastic material)
  • Hammer (pendulum hammer)
  • Hammer head (in accordance with an appendix to IEC 60309-1)

> IEC 60309-1 requires 5 shocks on each exposed side of the appliance. For each rating of the appliance (rated current A), a minimum degree of IK is required:

  • up to 32 A = IK06
  • from 63 A to 125 A = IK07
  • from 250 A = IK08

MARECHAL® plug socket-outlets are designed and qualified according to the IK08, IK09 and IK10 requirements of the IEC 62262 standard. They provide high mechanical resistance, thus preserving their integrity in the most demanding environments.

Withstanding vibrations

MARECHAL® sockets comply with the IEC 60068-2-6 standard and offer high resistance to vibrations thanks to their end-contact technology and elastic clamping terminal. They help prevent any malfunction caused by vibrations.

Drop resistance

MARECHAL® equipment solutions meet the most stringent requirements of IEC/EN 60309-1 and IEC/EN 60079-0 standards in terms of drop resistance. Rigorous testing is carried out to ensure that the plug socket-outlets remain safe and reliable to use even if accidentally dropped.

Resistance to intensive use
(operation cycles)

MARECHAL ELECTRIC’s solutions exceed the criteria of international standards (IEC, UL, CSA, etc.) in terms of operating cycles, ensuring trouble-free functioning even in the event of intense use.

Resistant to corrosion,
chemical agents
and UV rays.

Our MARECHAL® plug socket-outlets offer maximum safety in all environments. Thanks to our technical materials and advanced treatment processes, they are protected against corrosion, chemical agents and UV radiation. Whether in maritime, industrial, pharmaceutical or opencast mining environments, our plug socket-outlets guarantee unrivalled reliability.

Mechanical strength
of clamping devices
(screws, terminals, cable clamps, cable glands)

The screws and bolts used to join the conductors or attach the appliance are all made of stainless steel. Every component of our products is designed, manufactured, and tested to meet the most stringent industry standards in any sector. Our commitment to providing proven solutions guarantees that industrial processes are safe, resilient, and efficient.

Extreme temperature resistance

Extreme temperatures have an impact on the mechanical behaviour of materials. This can affect the insulating or sealing properties of the appliances. MARECHAL® equipment uses technical materials designed to operate in a wide range of temperatures, from -40°C to +60°C and even up to +240°C. This guarantees safety and reliability in all types of environments.

Innovative materials

MARECHAL® plug socket-outlet casings are made from technical materials (glass-fibre reinforced polyester), which make them much more resistant to drops and mechanical impacts than competing equipment.

MARECHAL ELECTRIC has a laboratory in France approved by Bureau Veritas LCIE (Laboratoire central des industries électriques en France). All robustness tests are carried out in this laboratory in order to obtain products that are reliable, long-lasting and able to withstand the most difficult conditions.

We use high-performance, long-lasting technical materials tailored to each application.

INDUSTRY APPLICATIONS

Provide long-lasting connections, adapted to their environment.
Our technology is a game changer from the very first moment of its use.

By the sea

Products are exposed not only to salt water or marine spray but also to UV rays. MARECHAL® plug socket-outlets are ideal for ship-to-shore connections and offshore platforms.

In the food industry

Intensive cleaning with disinfectants accelerates corrosion. MARECHAL® appliances are resistant to chemicals and can withstand the most aggressive cleaning agents.

In mines

Open-pit mining operations expose equipment to dust, moisture, and UV rays, increasing the risk of corrosion. Our rugged sockets are designed to ensure reliable performance.
